A Little Life Update

It’s been a long time since I updated, so I thought I’d jot down a few little summaries. Where to start? I’ve been writing, writing writing for WPMU.org and very much enjoying learning new things and making new friends along the way. Blogging every day for nearly nine months has been incredibly challenging but also very rewarding. I’ve discovered that when it comes to professional blogging my primary objectives are: 1. To offer easy-to-use solutions and 2. To save people time.

Most of the blogs I subscribe to are for learning and staying up to date with industry news. However, the ones I enjoy reading the most are about the little things in my friend’s lives that make them happy or inspire them. I miss blogging just for fun but haven’t made time lately. I’ve been totally immersed in work and learning and creating for clients, without any thought of stopping to write notes.  I came across this quote the other day that seems similar to what I’ve been exploring lately:

“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both.” – James A. Michene

New Things in my life:

1. We started an herb garden, inspired by our sister’s pretty little garden. Fresh herbs make cooking much more exciting 🙂

2. I got a new bike! Haven’t had one for years and years. The hubs and I got some of those camel water pack things from our brother and sister for a wedding gift and now we’re going to strap those on and hit the trails as soon as time permits. I can’t wait! 🙂

3. My android phone takes a lot better videos than my previous one, so if you like to watch random cat videos on Vimeo, you’re in luck. I’m contributing to the time-wasting pile. 🙂
